Terms of Use.
Last updated 2026-06-10.
Plain version
Tavern is a desktop app + website that helps you use your existing launcher accounts more easily. We don't own the games. We don't own your Steam profile. We aim to be a useful layer on top, not a replacement for any of them. Use it sensibly and these terms basically don't matter.
Eligibility
You must be old enough in your jurisdiction to enter into a contract online. For most of the world that's 13+ (with parental consent if under 18) or 16+ in some places. If you're under 13, Tavern is not for you yet.
Your account
You're responsible for keeping your Tavern password to yourself. If you link Steam, Epic, GOG, or any other launcher to your Tavern account, you're also responsible for keeping those credentials safe — we never see them (we use OAuth / OpenID), but we can't help you recover them if you lose them.
Don't be a jerk
- Don't try to break into other Tavern accounts
- Don't try to scrape or abuse the API
- Don't try to use Tavern to circumvent the rules of any underlying launcher
- Don't impersonate other users
If we catch any of the above we'll terminate your account, and depending on severity may share evidence with the relevant launcher (Steam, Epic, etc.) and/or law enforcement.
Service availability
Tavern is in early beta. The desktop app may crash. The website may go down. Features may change. We'll do our best to keep things stable but can't promise uptime numbers yet.
No warranty, limited liability
Tavern is provided "as is." We're not liable for losses arising from your use of Tavern — including but not limited to lost game progress, deleted Steam friends, accidental purchases on underlying launchers, etc. To the extent the law allows it, our total liability to you for anything Tavern- related is capped at the total amount you've paid us (which is currently $0).
Changes
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here with a new "Last updated" date. If the change is material, we'll show a notice in the app and on the website.
